New IRS rules allow you to convert your 72(t) plan from the Annuity or
Amortization method to the Minimum Distribution method once during your
72(t) period. EarlyRetire now takes advantage of this rule by converting your 72(t) plan to the
Minimum Distribution method in a year you specify, or it can be set to automatically convert
your 72(t) method as part of your plan if and when EarlyRetire determines it is
to your benefit.
The IRS allows you to take penalty-free withdrawals from a 401(k) before
you are 59½ if you retire after age 55. EarlyRetire now uses your specified
401(k) funds to provide early penalty-free retirement distributions whenever
possible, reducing your taxes and increasing your retirement income.
New variables are added to allow you to more easily model your debts and
liabilities.
