IRS tables used for tax computations (tax rate schedules, tax brackets, and standard deductions)
have been updated for 2008. Market performance statistics have been
updated through 2007.
Financial Events can now be set to begin or end at your Retirement Age or
Distribution Start Age in addition to fixed dates or ages. Such dates can
"float", meaning they will change when they are recalculated on the Planner.
You can also enter the start or end of an Event as an age rather than a
date.
Reports can now be aligned to calendar (or fiscal) years. When this option is
selected, each full year in the report is aligned to a calendar year, which
means the first and last year in each schedule may be a partial year. You
can define your own fiscal year.
The Report now shows allocation of generic event amounts to the categories
they affect.
The Report now lists all your Algorithm Settings.
The yearly Detail section of the Report has been rearranged for clarity.
The optimal percentage of assets to use for your 72(t) (SEPP) plan can now
be calculated by pressing the new Optimize button on the Algorithm Settings
display. The Optimize button calculates the amount which will result in the
lowest tax burden over your lifetime (therefore producing the highest
income).
